Mr. Aiden in green...in the back, middle..bright little smile.
This week has been BIG for my children, and for myself included. We've been talking, teaching, witnessing, helping, learning, going, and learning some more! My sweet kids had VBS, and while Aiden has attended for several years in a row, this was Miss Natalie's first shot, and she did pretty well for a little Miss who has never been without a parent 100% of the time. Our sweet daughter made some little baby friends, and even napped on someone other than me!!!! (some Mom's might be hurt by this, oh no, I am happy!!!!) In Natalie's own little way she made someone else's day...maybe even reminded them that there is innocence out there.
Aiden...well, he impressed me today. He had a few papers after VBS, and told me I was to make sure we kept them...I asked him why we needed to keep them, and his sweet response, "well, what if someone else doesn't know about God...we can give it to them." He's on the right track!!!
We had a great play-date with some little friends from school, and found ourselves at an inflatable jump house establishment...there was a little boy in a wheelchair, and I'm unsure what his exact "diagnosis" is..but, we went over and talked with him. Aiden came up to me, asking me "what's wrong with him?" I explained to Aiden that nothing is wrong with him, that little boy is just extra special..and we went over to talk with him. Once we left...Aiden asked me why I took us to talk to him. I told him that we went over to talk to that little boy, because no matter what someone looks like, they all need friends, and people to love them. So, while Aiden did not have much of a response to this I think it sunk in...I want Aiden to never single others out based on appearance...or what doctors might call a "disability." Aiden saw that his Mom took the initiative to walk over and talk to this little boy....I hope someday Aiden does this on his own, but, he will only do what I teach.
Miss Nat below with her VBS class. She's the one leaning up, in the white pants...kinda looks like she's scouting out where her Mom is...or directing where she wants to go...hum...she came by her persistence honestly. :-)
