"No, I have too much to do.."
"I will once I get this done..."
"I have to do this first..."
"It'll be better once I get this..."
"I'll have more time after this is over..."
EXCUSES! I've used them, we all have. But, it seems in my life right now I am more aware of when they are being used on me! And, I have also found that we as people tend to put other people off until things in our world are "perfect". We are always putting getting a phone issue figured out at the AT&T store before others....we are always putting our cleaning ahead of paying attention...we are always putting grocery shopping ahead of family...we are always putting something ahead of someone.
I do it...I know you do it...we all do...but, lately I am more aware of it. Guess what? The AT&T store will still be there, so will our messy houses, and believe it or not...so will the grocery store! Yes, things must be done...phones must get fixed, cleaning must commence at some point, and the grocery shopping must always get done...but, not always at the expense of our relationships.
"Work is just so busy...I just cannot...."....while work is vital..it's necessary..and it's important...so is family. These precious years with our precious children, and families are so important....I promise you, and I promise myself....because I need to work on it too....in 10 years we will look back and remember that day we all spent together...not that our floors were dirty...or work was busy...we will remember laughing as a family. It's just a thought...consider your excuse before you let it slip out.
Conditions will never be perfect. There will ALWAYS be some task that must be accomplished, but, weigh its importance.
