On the weekends...anytime we go somewhere as a family Rob always gets Natalie unbuckled out of her seat, and carries her wherever we are...I always love that considering she weighs a ton :-) But, today after we got home from a walk and I ventured around to her side of the car...I looked through the window to see her looking back at me with a big smile as though to say, "yay! You are here to get me!" I've decided one of my favorite things now is getting my rear facing daughter out of her car seat.
It is something she depends on....she counts on me to get her once we arrive safely from wherever we are traveling to or from. Her little face lights up to see me open the door to her side, and unbuckle her. I love that. I love that she gets so happy to see us. My little girl is such a precious gift....and that got me to thinking....
Rob deserves the same...once I see him walk into our home after work he should count on a smile from me, me to be there...and to be happy to see him. Aiden deserves the same from us....once he is home, and with us he should be given a smile and a sense of "we are so glad you are here...".
We do not "deserve" any of the relationships we've been blessed with....we just do not....they are gifts to us...they are not something we just deserve...I think maybe we all need to be reminded of that and treat even the ones closest to us with respect and glee at the sight of their sweet faces :-)
