I asked Rob for a porch swing for our anniversary, Mothers Day, and my birthday. We said it would be something special...he would build it, and I would stain it. So, over the weekend my carpenter was busy doing math on spare wood...cutting...molding...and wood working...late one night we decided to go 26 paces to the west outside our backdoor, and found ourselves at the workshop....we passed our freshly mowed grass, and fireflies lighting the night sky...those were the most romantic 26 paces I think I've ever taken with my husband. I sat perched up on the unfinished swing...talking to Rob, painting my toe's, and listening to the sounds of whatever saw, cutter, or tool he was using in the shop. We talked, laughed, and shoo'ed away mosquito's. I loved this night.
I walked out into the shop tonight to see that little piece of wood you see here hanging up. Rob saved my little 'I love you,' on his scrap slab of wood.
While his end of the swing is completed, mine has just begun...hopefully by the end of the week we will have a swing ornamenting our porch!
I must also add....NATALIE HAS A NEW NAPPING PAL. Today was the first day of VBS, and my Miss Natalie snuggled up to this little woman, who I just love. Natalie made her day, and she made my little baby girls day. Gosh, this lady loved on her, snuggled with her, and just enjoyed all my daughter had to offer. I want that. I want my children to bless others with their innocence, their smiles, and their laughter. I want my children to grow up loving others, and being so grateful for what others have to offer them in this world...not to mention what THEY can offer to others.
So, while my little Miss was snuggled up and getting lots of love...my little Aiden was busy making bread and learning about God...he was able to invite some friends from school, and loved catching up with them mid-summer.
